Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 often referred to professionally by the name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female to be signed for J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. The first album she released for the label on Oct. 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she began gaining fame. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out in May 2019. Ari Lennox released her songs online in 2012 after she released her the Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her single Bound along with her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. In 2015, she appeared on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. it out on 21st July. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville team at the time and wanted her to perform on Rihanna references. She officially was signed to Dreamville Records on 8 December. She made an appearance on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. On October 21 2016 she released her debut EP called Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as an opening performance. She also appeared on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus together with Bas, her labelmates. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream from her debut album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanying music video, which was released on the 5th of September. Then, in November, she released her singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November 2013 she released No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on February 26, 2019 to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared along with Cole as part of the Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. On February 20, 2019, a music clip was released for the song. It already has nearly 3 million views on YouTube within its first week. In December 2018 she was performing as a support act on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
